The Si535 is ideal for Ethernet switches, routers, PHYs and FPGAs by providing simplified interfacing. In this example shown here, the total jitter generation from an Si535 is 190 fs RMS. The Si53302 clock buffer only adds 35 fs RMS jitter to the Ethernet switch with an integrated PHY. The total RMS jitter from the Si535 and buffer is lower than the Broadcom spec for the switch which is at 0.193 ps RMS. This makes the Si535 and Skyworks Solutions buffers an ideal pairing for such applications.
