Overview

A High Current Toroidal Common Mode Choke is an electromagnetic filter component made up of one toroidal shape magnetic core and two copper wire windings in opposite directions, designed to block high frequency Common Mode, known as CM, electrical noise, conducted by and proliferated to the line and return paths of a power circuit. CM is typically generated from unshielded electronic parts situated within an end product or it is radiated by devices and equipment located nearby. The HCTC series filters out the unwanted high frequency, alternating current noise signals and passes the low frequency or direct current, useful signals. HCTC’s are attached to pinned header boards for vertical or horizontal PCB mounting.
