Previously, to implement PWM control in a system, customers would have had to first design their own PWM circuit on their control board, and also add a pulse generator into their system. This required knowledge and labor time to create an effective PWM circuit, as well as the cost of procuring a function generator. Seeing this market need, Sanyo Denki decided to create a packaged product that includes both a PWM generation circuit and a pulse generator, with multiple control schemes.
