The third control theme is external adjustment control. An external variable, such as a variable resistor, can be connected to the PWM controller. A response curve is created for the variation in resistance to PWM duty cycle. This option allows for remote control of the fan speed, since it allows for long lead wires from the external adjustment site, to the PWM controller.
