Described here is how ROHM’s solution can contribute to the reduction of BOM contents on the board. Power dissipation with energy sharing function limits the IC's power to 1.3 W as shown in the figure on the right side of this slide. Comparing a conventional-type LED driver on the left-hand side which exceeds its Tj max and is required to separate energy in-between two ICs, ROHM’s solution can keep operating the same driving current by only adding an energy sharing resistor.
