What makes this product so unique is the inclusion of a patented ratchet mechanism, which simplifies installation making this product ideal for in-field repair, and provides consistently repeatable and highly reliable optimal clamp force. As previously mentioned, with a traditional Wedge Lok, in order to yield optimal clamping force and thermal performance, the unit must be properly installed using an accurately calibrated torque wrench and torqued to the recommended level. If the wedge lok is under torqued, the low clamp force will affect both PBC retention and thermal transfer performance. If the wedge lok is over torqued, it can cause damage to the cold wall or crack the printed circuit board. The Torque Limiting Card Lok simplifies the installation since no special or calibrated tools are required for installation. Any device with a hex head including a hex screwdriver, Allen wrench, or torque wrench can be used. Additionally the operator doesn’t need to know the recommended torque level of the wedge lok because once the optimal clamping force has been reached, the ratchet will slip making an audible click.
