One developing market trend for portable devices is to increase the battery charge efficiencies between multiple boards. This is accomplished by using a thinner battery with an increasingly larger footprint. Since the larger footprint of the battery restricts board space and requires higher charge current, the need for connectors to be capable of higher carry currents without having to sacrifice miniaturization becomes very desirable.
