The key design aspect of the B01 is that the socket contains 3 points of contact with the header. The three points of contact which are connected in parallel reduce the overall resistance, allowing for a higher current capacity through the terminal. Also, the three points of contact help minimize any risk of losing connection if foreign particles get lodged inside the connector. Panasonic’s bellowed contacts and V-notch construction, normally found in Panasonic’s standard board-to-board connectors, are also used in the B01 series.
