PWM and Timer Applications Slide 9

Given the performance potential of the SCTimer/PWM, programmers need access to tools that support quick development and abstraction from the low level register interfaces. NXP has provided this through a state machine design tool that automatically generates code to operate the Timer. Engineers can skip time consuming register bit-field programming by using a friendly graphical configuration tool that is provided with the LPCXpresso integrated development environment. LPCXpresso Version 6 integrates the Red State tool that engineers can use to develop state machines to implement the timer design strategies. Red State also generates the C language code to initialize low level registers and operate the state machine. The Cookbook, which was shown previously, provides the state machine definition files and the code generated by this tool suite. Starting from the available Cookbook and LPCOpen examples is a quick and easy way to see results in the application. Download LPCXpresso from NXP’s lpcware.com site at “www.lpcware.com/lpcxpresso/home”.
