NXP Application Engineers have developed solutions for common timer applications, using the SCTimer/PWM. The “SCTimer/PWM Cookbook” is implemented on the LPC800 series microcontroller, targeting the inexpensive LPCXpresso demo-board and other platforms. Each use case is provided with an application note, a state machine diagram, and the source code. The simplest example uses one match register and one event, with a single state. The more complex timer use cases are implemented using multiple capture/match registers, events and state machine definitions. Users can quickly experience the capability of the Timer, and build many of the fundamental timer requirements from the available examples. By modifying the state machine configuration, these examples can be quickly extended to provide solutions for application-specific requirements of many embedded systems. Download the Cookbook at NXP’s “lpcware.com” site by navigating to LPC800 Application Notes, or by searching under keyword “cookbook”. New products and examples are being added, so watch for updates on this site.
