LPC1800 Series Slide 3
The high performance LPC1800 microcontrollers have a rich set of peripherals and large internal memories. Some of the distinguishing features of the LPC1800 include: A 180MHz Cortex-M3 core, up to 1 MB of internal dual-bank Flash with memory accelerator for near SRAM performance. The dual-bank flash option allows the processor to execute from one bank of Flash while the other bank is being reprogrammed. Additionally, the LPC1800 has up to 200KB of on-chip SRAM provided in multiple banks, a state configurable timer or SCT which is a unique NXP peripheral capable of generating waveforms on up to 16 outputs and handling eight different inputs, the SPI Flash interface or SPIFI which allows an external serial memory to appear as an internal block of memory within the memory map and two high speed USB interfaces – one with an internal high speed PHY to reduce system cost and complexity. Other higher end peripherals include an Ethernet MAC, an LCD controller, and two CAN 2.0 interfaces. Of course, there are also a number of communication interfaces, such as UARTs, SPI ports, I2C, and I2S interfaces. An external memory controller is available to interface with external NOR Flash, SDRAM, and SRAM memories. This allows the user to expand the amount of available code space and RAM available for their application, as well as providing a frame buffer for the LCD controller.
