This slide shows the operation of the bus-hold feature. When the input pin is driven LOW, the output of inverter A is set HIGH. This HIGH level turns off the PMOS device and turns on the NMOS device pulling the input LOW. If the driver is removed, the CMOS input buffer remains defined as a logic low.
