Fan efficiency is the ratio of input electrical power to output airpower. In many of today’s systems where forced air cooling is used, the fan’s power requirements are often a significant portion of total power budget. Selecting NMB’s R and F Series fans can help reduce this effect. Using high efficiency fans has a cascade effect on system design. Components, such as power supplies can be down sized, saving weight and space, and the power distribution network can be minimized. The long term benefit of choosing efficient fans is a reduction of ownership costs since a few percentage points improvement of each fan in a system can quickly add up to significant annual energy saving.
