There are a few reasons the Curiosity Development Board was created. First and foremost it provides a cost effective means to benefit first-time users, makers, or those wanting to do some rapid prototyping. It conveniently does not require any additional hardware for programming and debugging – that is all included via the PKOB or PICKit on Board. It works well with the MPLAB Cloud-based IDE and MPLAB Code Configurator. Additionally, it joins a growing family of 8- and 32-bit Curiosity boards with similar form factor, PKOB, user interface options, and expansion headers. The board can help make an IoT design quickly become a reality, by adding Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity or other communication functionality via a full complement of MikroElektronika Click boards.
