A differential amplifier is unique in that it supports both differential inputs as well as differential outputs (as opposed to a single-ended output found on most operational amplifiers). In addition, the MCP6D11 offers a pin called VOCM that allows the output signal to be shifted by a DC value. For example this enables the output to match the range of an ADC. The MCP6D11 also features a power down pin, which allows the device to be placed in a low power mode when not in use.
