Under the Precision Edge™ product line, Microchip offers single, dual, quad, and six channel buffers along with single-ended-to-differential, differential-to-single-ended, and differential-to-PECL/CML/LVDS translators. Microchip also offers small to large fan-out buffers, from two outputs to twenty-two outputs in LVTTL, PECL, HSTL, CML, and LVDS logic levels. Because of their low phase jitter, these products are ideal for reference clock distribution. Multiplexers are another Precision Edge product and can be selected with two, four, or eight inputs. Typically, a fan-out buffer is integrated on the backend of a multiplexer to simplify design and lower cost. Furthermore, a majority of the fan-outs and multiplexers can accept any differential or single-ended signal. This eliminates the need for an additional translator on the board. Additionally, the Precision Edge product line includes small 2x2 and 4x4 crosspoint switches, with and without equalization, which work up to 10 Gbps.
