The architecture for this design was built with the intent to offer a variety of different inputs and outputs; also to support legacy systems and allow the user to have a sense of what to control and do. There are a lot of analog output options in this system because many native MCUs already have integrated ADCs; therefore, the engineer can decide to use those analog output channels to control multiple functions in the system. The Grid-EYE sensor is a multi-dimensional sensor that gives heat sources in x and y dimensions in the viewing direction. The current architecture uses one sensor for single room control, but the multi-drop system will allow up to one hundred MAXREFDES130s on the bus to gather additional building information. The user can also control AC, turning lights on and off, or perform other types of automation. Lastly, with many wireless and wired communication options, this solution allows the designer to choose and add their preferred communication method.
