The input differential voltage range for the MAX44284 is determined by equation 1: V(SENSE RANGE) = VDD / GAIN. The input differential voltage range is estimated for VDD from 1.7 V to 5.5 V for different gain values of the MAX44284 as shown here in the table. Ideally, the maximum load current develops the full-scale sense voltage across the current-sense resistor. The engineer should choose the gain needed to yield the maximum output voltage required for the application using equation 2: VOUT = GAIN x VSENSE.
