The MAX31875 is a tiny sensor for general purpose temperature-sensing applications. Packaged in a four-bump WLP, this sensor has a small, 0.7 mm2 footprint that helps minimize circuit board area. Power supply current is very low, and can be traded against conversion rate and resolution to optimize power and performance. As an example, at 8-bits of temperature resolution and one conversion per second, the maximum supply current over temperature is just 4.2 µA. The MAX31875 is an I2C and SMBus 3.0 compatible interface to accept write, read, send and receive Byte commands. This allows the commands to read the temperature data based on the behavior of the sensor. The interface includes Packet Error Checking (PEC) for robust communications with the master to avoid communication errors.
