Product List
The MAX31856PMB1 peripheral module includes the MAX31856 with a screw terminal for the thermocouple, providing the necessary hardware to interface the MAX31856 cold-junction compensated thermocouple-to-digital converter to any system that utilizes Pmod-compatible expansion ports, for example FPGA platforms, microcontrollers, or even popular low-cost platforms such as Arduino DUE. This makes it very easy for an engineer to plug this small board into their own system for quick testing and prototyping. The schematic here shows how the MAX31856PMB1 can plug directly into a SPI-configured, Pmod-compatible port through connector H1. This connector supports the MAX31856 4-wire SPI interface and also provides power to the device through the 3.3 V pin. For more information on the SPI protocol, refer to the MAX31856 IC data sheet. The DRDY and FAULT pins can also be monitored through H1.
