A design engineer can have a system working with MAX31856 very quickly, there is no need to do a lot of register writing to make it work. Just enter a couple of bytes to select thermocouple type, rejection frequency, and whether the engineer wants it to convert continuously or on demand, and now the system is ready to read thermocouple temperature.
