summary
In summary, HMIC (Heterolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit) technology, exclusively from MACOM, is a microwave and mW integrated circuit topology that can create three dimensional structures based upon an inimitable marriage of silicon and glass at a waferscale level, which enable high performance, low loss, lower cost realizations of both discrete and classic hybrid MMIC-level semiconductors. By using the silicon/glass HMIC process, MACOM is able to produce components with compact die outlines that have higher gains and lower losses compared to FET-based devices. HMIC devices also have extremely wide operating frequency ranges, up to 30 GHz. MACOM offers a variety of HMIC-based products including mixer, modulators/demodulators, broadband PIN diode switches, passive IC diplexers and bias networks, and discrete Schottky, PIN, and varactor diodes.
