HighPower-TVS-Slide8

The next few parameters that will be discussed appear on what is known as a V-I curve. This characteristic curve displays the voltage and current relationships in a TVS diode. The voltage is shown horizontally and the resulting current is shown vertically. The Littelfuse line of high power TVS devices are bidirectional devices. That is, they have the same characteristic curve in the positive and the negative directions, so it does not matter which way they are inserted into the circuit. As can be seen from the graph, the left side of the curve is the mirror image of the right side, except of course that negative voltages will drive negative currents.
