Armed with the answers from the three questions on the previous page, a solution can be quickly chosen using this selector chart. In the first column, select the exposure level required.  “2M” refers to simple “2 Meter” designs where only minor ESD would be in play. This is the vast majority of Ethernet designs. In these situations, the same solution works for all PoE and data rate options. For more exposed designs, where threats beyond minor ESD exist or where GR-1089 intra-building compliance is required, the solution will depend on the answers to the second and third questions. For outdoor and other high exposure designs, the SEP and Enhanced TeleLink® Fuse should surely be used, but selecting the voltage level is dependent on the PoE requirements.
