In discussing the types of customers, applications, and opportunities that these products serve, it is important to recognize that anywhere circuit protection exists, a fuse holder can exist. Typical customers span the automotive and commercial vehicle OE space. This is not limited to passenger cars, agriculture, construction, truck and bus, as well as material handling. The channels by which these products realize are through direct, Tier, or distribution partners. As for typical opportunities, these products follow the design cycle of that of the end vehicle (the truck, the car). As such, there are two very distinct opportunities for applications of this portfolio: very early in the design cycle, and very late in the design cycle. The earlier applications of individual fusing will be standard or common features on a vehicle, but use of these types of products results from auxiliary circuits, protection for which is not easily integrated into the main power distribution center. The use of fuse holders in later portions of the design cycle result from protecting optional features (protection for which was not planned as part of the main architecture) or from supplemental protection in addition to the main power distribution unit in a vehicle.
