This evolution in the tantalum technology introduced the possibility of having the devices working in different applications with totally different derating levels when compared with the standard MnO₂ technology. Polymer capacitors are suitable for use in totally different levels of voltages (ex. 80% or 90% depending on the series) when compared with standard MnO₂ technology.
