KEMET offers four Safety Certified series for Interference suppression. The C900 Safety Disc leaded series comes in five voltage classes and three lead styles and is certified by UL and VDE. The ER Safety Disc leaded series comes in three voltage classes and three lead styles and is certified by UL and VDE. The KJ Safety Disc leaded series comes in two voltage classes and three lead styles and is certified by UL and TUV. Finally, the CAS Surface Mount series comes in two voltage classes and four case sizes ranging from 1808 to 2225 and is certified by UL and TUV. The CAS Series allows engineers to place the essential mains-connected filtering capacitors into smaller spaces, thereby reducing board size. For circuit designers, the benefit is that the new devices are compatible with standard reflow processes, eliminating an additional step in the manufacturing process.
