Shown on this slide are some examples of oscillation circuits. At the top is a circuit diagram which shows a RLC (Resistor, Inductor and Capacitor) circuit. Note that the smaller value of capacitance will cause a higher frequency of oscillation and a larger value will reduce the frequency of operation. On the lower half of the page are examples of an antenna as well as an induction heating system. Capacitive technologies used for oscillation circuits vary, based on the power necessary to be generated. For low power circuits like cell phone antennas, a high Q ceramic capacitor is often used. For precise timing, a film capacitor will typically be used.
