Overall, Renesas has the ability to provide the full power solution from isolated controllers to LDOs with the monitors and sequencers in between. The power sequencers will allow the user to power up the rails in the order they need, especially in applications where the rails come in certain sequences. Renesas also has a selection of power monitors to give early warning if any rails are beginning to drift outside a pre-determined voltage window. Finally, for users that like to take all the power design out of the design there are the power module solutions. These parts have fully integrated the controller, driver, FETs, and inductors, as well as the compensation capacitors and feedback resistors all in one package. Three external components are all that is needed: input capacitance, output capacitance and a voltage set resistor. The ISL820x family of parts comes in 3A, 4A, 6A, and 10A options.
