Current density is defined as the amount of load current per unit area of the combined device dimension. Compared to SMD standard package, Infineon's power package can deliver more current or power per mm2. This an excellent advantage for Power MOSFET customers who have design area requirement. Please remember though for DirectFET to achieve the highest current density possible, top side cooling is required.
