While in the past radar was often to complex and expensive compared to PIR-sensors, the IMD-2000 offers more options for motion detection at an affordable price. InnoSenT created a radar solution that is easy to integrate and use even without radar know how. First, connect the radar sensor with a power supply via the pin connector. Integrate the sensor in a product or place it behind a covering, then mount it in a stationary position and align it in the desired direction. Please check the correct orientation and mounting angle to the needed field of view. The customer can connect the sensor via UART with a device for receiving signals directly. Now communicate and configure the sensor via interface protocol. Connect the radar sensor with the PC via USB to TLL serial cable. Install the InnoSenT software package and install on the computer to use the target viewer. In the next step press the connect-button and choose the correct COM Port. Configure all necessary parameters like detection range, velocity limits, and signal strength sensitivity to the desired parameters. Afterwards the user is required to send the configuration settings to the sensor, verify configuration settings and connect a camera for recording desired. Finally, test the sensor with movement in the detection area.
