HARTING DIN 41 612 connectors are available with various termination types for both cable and board mount connectors. Through-hole soldering technology has been proven over decades and continues to offer stable and reliable termination. More recently, surface mount compatible termination has been developed (as will be shown in more detail on slide 9). Press-in technology supports cost efficient processing by offering solder-less, gas-tight termination with extremely secure holding forces. For wire mounted connectors, crimp, IDC, and solder lug types are available. Crimp contacts can accommodate wire gauges from 28-20 AWG, delivered in different packaging sizes depending on choice of tooling and associated volume of demand. For small to medium volume demand, hand crimp tools are available. For higher volumes, fully automated machines are available for purchase. Press-in connectors are similarly supported with a choice of different machines, including the state of the art CPM Prestige for maximized processing efficiency and quality control.
