To turn it on, the “on” checkbox is clicked. To turn it off, it is deselected. The power to turn a single module on and off with the click of a button may seem trivial, but on a real board with 15 to 20 modules, the ability to enable using a digital signal becomes very powerful. This also enables the master controller to make the call on when the module needs to be on or off, based on other conditions.
