The two sensors are both I2C peripherals, demonstrating the ability of the FT4232H to drive I2C devices. The proximity sensor will detect the presence of an object, which then allows the RPi2 MCU to enable the color sensor to make the color reading. Readings are made visible on the display by showing a circle with increasing/decreasing radius as the object comes closer or moves farther away. The display will provide RGB data in text form as well as adjusting the color of the displayed circle to match the color of the test object.
