summary
In summary, some of the key points to remember on the QG family are: low pin-count, high-integration does not necessarily mean “low-end”.  This is not a “low pin-count, low-functionality, low-price” family. This family brings the advantages of the S08 family down to the small package space with improved performance, power management modes, overall power consumption, and integrated on-chip ICE and BDM. Referencing the HC908QT/QY family, NXP is maintaining the concept of small pin-count devices at attractive prices without sacrificing functionality, as well as improving on the low (overall) power consumption of the S08 family with modules like the ICS. This family of devices is so highly-integrated that it is a shame to call it low-end.
