Application Areas of One Material

Within this complex permeability curve of Fair-Rite’s 61 material, the different areas of applications this material excels at are defined by different color sections. This is due to the correlation of µ' and µ", also known as the “quality factor”. Power and inductive applications want a high Q greater than one, and suppression benefits from a low Q less than one. Don't forget that for suppression of noise, this material will still work over the spectrum, blocking emission of noise at lower frequencies and absorbing electromagnetic interference at the higher frequencies.
