SMT-Current-Slide2

The construction of the EP7 and EP10 current sense transformer series consists of a primary winding which is molded into the bobbin. The bobbin itself is made of a UL94-V0 class material, the CTI value is at least 175. The secondary winding is made of copper wire. By this unique construction method and the special geometry of the bobbin, EPCOS SMT Current Sense Transformer parts fulfill IEC 60064 basic insulation requirements. In combination with AEC-Q200 qualification, these parts provide unique characteristics for automotive and non-automotive applications - this is an outstanding feature in the wide choice of current sense transformers. Both series offer different turn ratios and very low DC resistance. The components are RoHS compatible and are intended to be used at a typical switching frequency range of 50 to 250kHz. The EP7 series is able to sense currents up to 20A whereas the EP10 series is able to sense currents up to 30A.
