The CX3 is a chip that bridges two standard interfaces: MIPI CSI 2 and USB 3.0. However, it is far from being a fixed function bridge. CX3 enables designers to customize their products. From camera protocol to pan, zoom control, custom frame propping to infrared LED illumination, customers can take full advantage of the on-chip ARM9, 512 KB of programming space and a robust software design kit to customize their HD camera design. Compared to fixed function USB camera chips that are designed specifically for low-cost PC webcams, CX3 provides designers with a powerful programming platform to meet the unique design requirements for HD video.
