The MK-R can also be used for high lumen outdoor lighting applications. This chart shown here shows different design examples using three different XLamp options for a 10,000 lm outdoor luminaire. As users move to the right, the design options use fewer LEDs and optics and as they move to the left, there are more options for optics. For example, the last row shows the options for a 100 lm/W system design. Designers could use 80 XP-G2s driven at 350 mA, 40 XM-L2s driven at 700 mA, or 20 MK-Rs driven at 350 mA. Any of these solutions work, depending on the given design objectives.
