Product List
For a Forward Current of 10 mA (recommended by design guidelines) and a 5 V driving voltage, the bar graph shows that 47 devices in a 50 piece sample consistently turn on between 0.2 and 0.3 msec. The other three pieces are very close to the expectation, with 2 pieces turning on a bit quicker and one piece slightly longer. Based on this distribution, for reliable action within the 0.2 to 0.3 msec time-frame, a minimum of 10 mA should be applied and up to 20 mA will guarantee operation over the device lifetime and through IRED degradation. Calculations for the input IRED of an SSR should follow the standard calculations for an optocoupler with an expectation of 15% degradation over 5 to 10 years. Check all the graphs of Typical Characteristics for Current and Voltage for the SSR of choice when calculating circuit values.
