The Atmel Studio build process can generate a number of output files in various formats, such as hex, elf and so on, plus useful reports such as a memory map of the project that was just built. By default, all projects use the built-in make function to build a project. For advanced users, it is also possible to use custom make files to control the build process. For more information about the build process, check out the compiler documentation, or jump over to the video tutorials to see how to configure optimization using the built-in make function.
