ATAES132 additionally comes with built-in tamper and physical protection. The tamper protection detects when somebody is trying to hack ATAES132 and will start countermeasures to stop the attack. The physical protection includes environmental shields protecting against voltage, temperature, frequency, light and physical attacks. Furthermore, all information inside the EEPROM is encrypted; therefore, dumping the data from the non-volatile cells will not reveal secret information. The ATAES132 is designed with key protection in mind. Keys used for crypto operations are designed not to leave the device. Users can use the keys inside the EEPROM, but they can never read it.
