The Microchip CryptoAuthentication™ product portfolio offers the industry's widest selection of hardware authentication and encryption devices. The devices provide secure key storage to complement microcontrollers. They cover important, modern security standards, giving designers more choices for easy implementation of standards-based hardware security. The portfolio is currently comprised of three main devices with still others under development. The ATSHA204 supports the SHA256 standard and is Microchip's most cost effective solution, making it ideal for cost-sensitive applications. It provides 16 slots of secure key storage affording the flexibility to use the part in different ways, such as storing information beyond just a single secret and storing and presenting multiple secrets that can be used at different times. The newest member of the CryptoAuthentication™ family, the ATECC108, supports full 256-bit Elliptic Curve Cryptography without the need for secure storage in the host, and it is fully compatible with the ATSHA204. The ATAES132 is a high-security, serial 32 K-bit EEPROM that provides authentication and confidential nonvolatile data storage capabilities for code blocks, biometrics, and other uses. As the name implies, it supports AES cryptography.
