WSW Components Line of Board-Level Transistor Heat Sink Overview Slide 12

In the case of attaching a power transistor component to a heat sink there are several methods in which this can be accomplished. The least labor intensive method, providing its properties meet the application‘s requirements, would be to use an attachable heat sink, which can simply be “snapped“ onto the component without any additional hardware. Some of the more common attachment methods are adhesives and screws which are more labor intensive but adequate for smaller production volumes. ASSMANN WSW components offers retaining springs for many standard transistor packages. The retaining spring is quick and easy to install and firmly clips the component to the heat sink.
