DIP Coded Rotary Switch Slide 2

DIP Coded Rotary switches are mounted on printed circuit boards (PCBs) to set addresses and parameters in electronic devices. These switches contain fixed contacts that wipe against a binary encoder disc to achieve the desired binary outputs, which are selected by rotating an actuator shaft to a desired stop (detent) position. Each detent position has a unique binary output, and turning the actuator shaft rotates the binary encoder disc and changes the circuit.
