AirMax VS 96-position signal modules enable the high-speed links between a Compute Blade and the midplane. These signal connectors include a short-detect contact to enable hot-swappable modules. One blade signal connector supports the primary Ethernet channel. The second signal connector is optional and is reserved for future PCI Express usage. The 4-contact power module supports up to 450 watts per compute blade. Rugged die-cast guide modules assure correct alignment when modules are installed. The optional mezzanine module employs the same 96-position AirMax VS signal module for the Flexi midplane interface. The optional mezzanine card is used to support Infiniband, Fibre Channel or PCI Express links.
