Similar to FCI’s hard metric high power host-to-card connector products, HCI high power is intended for applications where power is delivered through a midplane or backplane into some type of daughter card. However, HCI high power offers significantly enhanced linear current density (up to 83A/contact) and can still be used with FCI‘s high speed ZipLine™ and AirMax VS® signal connectors as well as Millipacs®. In addition, HCI high power does not overhang the board edge so the board-to-board spacing can be adjusted if needed to accommodate other non-hard metric equipment practices. The two power contact position HCI high power product is also available with an integrated center guide which can eliminate the need for separate guidance thus offering a lower cost overall solution.
