Allegro has one of the broadest lines of bipolar stepper motor drivers in the industry, offering increased levels of functionality and performance covering a wide range of motor supply voltage and current ranges. While the A3987 operates over a wide motor supply voltage range of 8VDC to 50VDC, it is ideally suited for 30VDC to 42VDC systems where the current drive does not exceed 1.5A. Though the A3987 performs very well at motor supply voltages of 8VDC to 30VDC, Allegro offers other motor driver options for this lower voltage range, which would provide a lower cost structure and optimized performance.
