XRP (Xperiential Robotics Platform)

Xperiential Robotics Platform is the beginner robot that will change the way you robot! This hands-on robot platform has everything you need to begin or continue your robotics learning. It can complete tasks such as line-following, distance measuring, and motor controls with ease; and allow you to have fun while doing it.

The XRP platform includes:

Progression from fundamental robotics to driving, line following, using sensors, using a robotic arm, and culminates in building an autonomous delivery robot
Coding environment includes Blockly tools/libraries, Python, and the FIRST ® Robotics coding development tool, WPILib
Easy-to-assemble hardware kit that can be built completely tool-free (no soldering, no screws)
Online activities and modules that build on one another
Content designed for middle and high school students and beginners to customize the robot in numerous ways

XRP (Xperiential Robotics Platform)

On the hardware side, the heart of the robot is the XRP Controller Board with an on-board Raspberry Pi® Pico W featuring the RP2040 microcontroller, low-power accelerometer + gyroscope 6-DoF IMU (LSM6DSOX from STMicroelectronics®), a Qwiic® connector for easy ‎integration of sensors and accessories, two dual-channel motor drivers for control of four ‎motors total, two servo headers, a momentary button switch; and more. The kit also includes.

The robot is typically powered using 4xAA batteries (not included in the kit), however, supplies ‎up to 11V are supported via the barrel connector.

One partner of the XRP, WPI (Worcester Polytechnic Institution), has created online modules ‎that offer a fun and engaging experience and walks users through many different robotics ‎challenges. These online modules are still in beta, so be sure to check back often to try new and ‎exciting modules that fit your skill level and experience.
