LTC5596 is an RMS power detector with an ultra wide input frequency range and high linear dynamic range,making it suitable for use in a variety of applications, including point-to-point microwave links, instrumentation, and gain control, and power control. The LTC5596 has a response that is linear-in-dB, with a step size of 29 mV/dB over a 35 dB dynamic range with an accuracy of ±1 dB. The detector has an internal averaging filter, and the averaging bandwidth can be adjusted using an optional external filter capacitor, allowing for customization to the application.
